Located just west of the River Rhine in German's western Rhineland-Palatinate region, Bad Sobernheim is a state-recognised spa town within a region known for its dry, summer climate and winegrowing. The founder at Hamilton Hotel Partners approached us, asking for a new cocktail bar and dining space as a contemporary addition that would allow for an expanded food offering.
We designed and oversaw a bespoke joinery package to construct a fluted oak bar, a mirror-shuttered patisserie display, a glazed timber wine and grappa display, and curved banquettes upholstered in both fabric and leather. These elements demonstrate a highly detailed and tailored response to the hotel's requirements.
By creating a well-lit space that can be used from breakfast, through afternoon patisserie and into cocktail hour - we added value for the client through intelligent detailing and specification that will increase revenue and return on investment.
Continuing our work in creating original art pieces, we paid homage to 'The Rhinemaidens' - three water-nymphs who appear in Wagner's opera cycle 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' - with a piece of digital art that changes throughout the day. In the morning, sunshine appears through the forest glade within the photo, whilst at evening, the light changes with a more intense focus on the photo's subjects.
