Originally completed in 2000, we were asked to undertake an exemplar contemporary refurbishment and repositioning of the building and reconnect it with ‘Green Park’ – the building’s verdant surroundings. The completed project has created an aspirational place to work and a ‘home from home’ for over 3,000 or users.
The existing user experience was underwhelming, with a poor arrival experience, lack of any identity, poor and dated amenity provision, and poor sustainability and wellness credentials. Our design is defined by a considerable amount of new communal and private breakout space with a focus on informal meeting and quiet space. The redevelopment includes fully fitted office suites, expansive work spaces and contemporary studio offices with spaces ranging from 1,500 to 180,000 sq ft.
The building has been broken down into six ‘blocks’, which are arranged around a central ‘Campus Studios’ building that sits beside a lake. The studio building is conceived as a highly flexible space for external events, exercise classes and a learning hub for the building’s users that promotes wellness and relaxation.
