Henry Wood House

London

The Office Group

2015

Our celebration of Mad Men-era style has transformed an unloved 1950s block in central London into a co-working space for The Office Group which is ‘more luxurious than home’.

The scheme is one of several we have created for the client and, with 76,000 square feet, one of their largest locations in central London. The Office Group describe the space as ‘all work and all play’, meeting increasing demands from tenants for imaginative work environments that foster a creative, collaborative business community. The refurbishment covers the nine lower floors, and includes a wide variety of spaces, from generic, sub-divisible offices, meeting and breakout spaces, through to facilities more suited to those of a boutique hotel.

Named after the founder of the annual Proms concerts, modernist Henry Wood House was originally occupied by the BBC, a younger sister to its more classical building opposite at Langham Place. We interpreted The Office Group’s sales pitch – flexible, optimally serviced co-working spaces – within the unique character of the building.

The layout is flexible enough to give a variety of subdivision sizes alongside communal spaces, and boardroom and conferencing suites.
