Mill Hill School

2019

Our refurbishment of a boarding house for a London independent school mixes the best of the past with fresh character and identity – and provided a new home for fourteen students and their tutors.

St Bees Boarding House is home to boys from Mill Hill School in north London. While the main school building, dating from 1825, is classical in style, St Bees is a far more modest, late-Victorian three-storey structure and the smallest of the school’s five boarding houses.

Our full internal refurbishment of the building, which had been flood damaged, began with the beautiful period features – windows, timber parquet flooring and fireplaces – which we retained where possible.
